In the small town of Muskegon Heights, Michigan, USA, Jack Jokinen woke up to a mystery one morning. He found a stray dog inside his house, even though all the doors and windows were closed!
At first, he thought it was a prank by one of his friends but quickly realized that wasn’t the case when he saw the surveillance footage from outside his house. It turns out that the wind had blown open his front door due to bad weather overnight, and the stray dog had walked right in!
The camera also showed that the door was later closed by a passerby. So the dog could not get out. And she did not want to. Thankfully Jack took care of her, and she lives happily with him.

The stray dog was nine years old and hadn’t received proper care or vaccinations. Jack quickly took her to the vet and had her checked out, administering all necessary vaccines and treatments. He even named the pup Susie!
Her health condition was horrible. Her tooth had to be removed. She was not eating well. But over time, with care and love, she became much better.
Nowadays, Susie has settled into her new home with Jack perfectly. She’s often seen sleeping in the sun or playing with her toys around the house – it’s as if she knew this was meant to be from the moment she found her way inside! Jack is grateful for his new family member, and Susie loves being part of a home at last.
Jack says he will work to provide Susie with an average old age. She is grateful for this because she never dreamed it would be possible! A happy ending for a stray dog who found its way into the right home.
It shows that even when all doors seem closed, you can still find your way in and bring joy to those around you. You never know what life has in store!
