A Maryland couple had gone to a shelter to adopt a cat, but they left with two best friends instead. His name was Happy Bear, and although he was born without eyes, he turned out to be not just Happy Bear but the giant bear there.
They were brought to the shelter with his best offspring Pumba, a 4-month-old kitten, about a month ago when their family could no longer provide them with the necessary care and attention. The former owner wanted to give them a better life than they are living now.
Although he is blind, the 2-year-old ginger tabby knows nothing else; being blind is normal. When he arrived, he quickly showed all the shelter staff what a sweet bear he was.
The special bond between them was evident from the very beginning. Pumba is Lucky Bear’s spirit cat, accompanying him wherever they go. When the kitten goes to eat, his friend comes up. Therefore, the family could not separate them.
The couple fell in love with them immediately, and they decided to adopt both of them. They couldn’t imagine their lives without these two best friends by their side now. And why should they? Just look at how happy these two are together!
Last week they moved into their new home, and the two have quickly settled in.
Jill added, “I finally brought them home last Wednesday, and everyone seems to be getting along.”
Lucky (ginger) and Charon (black and gray) have been cuddling with their humans since they arrived, and they love it. They’ve quickly taken a liking to their new home and enjoy spending time with Penny, their new sister.
Despite his blindness, Happy Bear is a happy and loving cat who has taught the whole family about resilience and companionship. He brings so much joy to everyone he meets, and we wish him all the best in his new home!
It’s always wonderful when animals find the love and care they need in new homes, but it’s even better to see them living happily together!
