Jamie After Adoption To New Family Would Fall Asleep Only On One Condition

When 13-year-old Jamie arrived at the RSPCA Australia shelter, he was in rough shape. Jamie is a loving Burmese cat who came to the top after his owner moved to a nursing home and could not take him with her.

He had cat flu, bad teeth, and kidney problems, but the staff gave him the necessary medical care. They were worried that no one would want such an old cat, but then Sarah Dempsey came along.

“Jamie was asleep when I first saw him. However, he woke as soon as he bent down to say hello.” Sarah said with a smile. “It was love at first sight for both of us.”

“The staff later let him out to see how he was with me, and he was immediately affectionate. I knew he would rescue me from feeling alone, and I’d do the same for him.”

Soon Jamie settled into his new home. “He won’t leave me,” said Sarah. “He is extremely affectionate, bumping his head and weaving around my legs. He loves to talk to me at night and follows me around the apartment.” They quickly became close, so much so that he won’t go to bed at night without them holding hands.

“He’s such a loving and special cat,” said Sarah. “I feel so lucky to have found him.”

Their beautiful friendship proves that age is just a number, and love knows no bounds. Jamie may have been old and needed medical care, but he found a loving home with Sarah, and they both couldn’t be happier. Adopt, don’t shop – you never know the unique bond you could create.
