After a Walk, the Cat Brought the Owners an Unusual Guest with a Broken Wing
An elderly couple lived in an old village house. Their only companions were each other and their cat, Paramon. The cat had been with them for over ten years, and they loved him dearly. One day, the cat became sluggish and depressed, and the old couple thought he was sick.
They went for a walk, but when they came back, the cat wasn’t there. They assumed that he had gone to find a place of rest and mourned his loss.
A few days later, they heard meowing at their door and were surprised to see that their cat was back – along with a chick who had a broken wing! It was a little swan.
They took the chick to a local veterinarian who helped get it back on its feet. The couple soon realized that the cat had found and cared for the injured chick during his absence.
The swan stayed in the house, where they put a box for it. The swan was often visited by Paramon, who tried to warm the baby with his warmth. The bird had recovered and gotten stronger by absorbing heat from Paramon’s visits. Later he flew in from his privates.
The swan soon returned to the village house doorstep with his mate in tow. A nest appeared on the shore not long after, and the older men saw little birds swimming atop the water’s surface.
Inseparable during autumn’s chill, the family flew south. The first thing they did upon returning was visit that same small village house that always welcomed them warmly.
