When Jason from Georgia, USA, heard a tiny kitten crying underneath a car one day, he had no idea how meaningful that encounter would be. The little feline was soaking wet and alone in the rain, but when Jason picked her up and called out to her, she immediately ran into his arms. With no mother cat in sight, Jason decided to take the kitten home and care for her. His kind act inspired others to do the same – here’s his story.
Jason took the kitten to the local shelter in case it had a tracking chip that would help them find its owner. But unfortunately, the top said the kitty was homeless, and they couldn’t help.
Though he knew better, Jason couldn’t resist taking in the stray animal he found. His dog at home and his regular travel plans made it difficult, but he could see the pet as a good home.
Jason was about to discover that his initial decision to save the kitten’s life would have much more significant implications than he had ever imagined.
After sharing pictures of the kitten on social media and asking for help finding her a home, Jason’s inbox was flooded with responses from people worldwide who had been in similar situations. They thanked him for his kindness and shared their stories of rescuing kittens (and other animals) in need.
After being welcomed into his new home, the kitten met Jason’s dog. To everyone’s surprise, they became friends almost immediately. A week later, one of Jason’s friends showed interest in adopting the kitten – and soon enough, he had a forever home.
Jason’s friend quickly took an interest in the kitten and adopted him within a week! Jason admits that Popeye is genuinely a fantastic cat and will visit often. Before leaving, the kitty was neutered and received all vaccinations necessary. He is now contentedly living in his new home!
