Three young girls are being hailed as heroes after they risked their lives to save cats from a burning building. After the building burned down and the firefighters left, keeping everyone they could, the girls came.
The girls knew their cat Apu would be in the building somewhere, so they came back the next day to look for him among the ashes. Not only did they find Apu, but they also found another family’s cat and helped reunite them with their pet.
The first cat the girls found was burnt red and in agonizing pain. In addition to her face being burned, her ears and neck were also injured. So, they took her to a veterinary center.
The next day they returned to the house’s remains to continue searching for their cat Apu and found another family there.
These people were looking for a red cat the girls had rescued the day before. The lost cat’s owners had come to the girls for help. After the girls told them where to find their pet, the owners went straight to the veterinary center.
They also found a black and white cat crawling into a sewer pipe. When they got closer, one of the girls climbed into the line from one end and the other from the other to catch the cat if it started to run away.
“ When we first saw her, we were afraid she would run away from us. But after getting a closer look and seeing all of her burns, we started thinking about how to take her in a way that would cause her the least pain possible. We understand that the only way to get her was to go in from one end of the pipe, and my friend went in from the other.”
The black-and-white cat was severely burned, but it started purring and hugging one of the girls on the way to the veterinary clinic. After posting an ad about the found cat on social networks, they managed to find its owner.
The girls’ heroic efforts have earned them the admiration of their community and beyond. It shows that even in the darkest times, light is always found.
Sadly, the ending of this story is not a happy one. A cat Apu was found after days of searching; however, he had suffered from burns much worse than any of the other cats they had seen. Unfortunately, 16 days after being treated in a veterinary clinic for his injuries and complications related to the burns, Apu passed away.
Despite everything, the girls are an example of heroism! They risked their lives to save others, and in doing so, they held a lot of lives. They are true heroes!
