Cat’s Owner Died Suddenly From Heart Attack: Fluffy Left Alone Without Food and Water in Locked Apartment

When Purrfect Cat Rescue of Crystal Lake, Illinois, took in a skinny, weak, dehydrated cat named Wishbone earlier this year, they had no idea that his owner had passed away days before. Left locked inside his apartment without food or water, Wishbone did his best to survive.

Fortunately, help arrived just in time, and Wishbone is now living happily with a new family who reports being “endlessly in love” with their feline companion.

The man lived alone with his cat. Neighbors raised the alarm two days after the man died. They said they had not seen him for a long time. That’s why the police were called.

The cat tried to make itself heard, but no one understood why it was meowing. And then the cat had no strength even to walk. Unsurprisingly, she was thirsty and hungry after such an ordeal, but most of all, she needed attention and affection.

Wishbone was taken to the vet, where it was discovered that she suffered from a severe medical problem and was dehydrated and malnourished.

Purrfect Cat Rescue organized a search for a particular food and information about the cat.

Thankfully, Wishbone was adopted by a loving couple who were endlessly in love with their new feline companion.

Like many others, they read the cat’s story on the internet and could not stand aside.

“ Found living with her owner, who passed away a few weeks ago, we quickly fell in love with her. Many of you sent us messages asking how you could help, and so many of you stepped up and sent her favorite wet food, which was hard to come by. She received food donations from all over the country, even as far as Canada! We are so grateful to have such a supportive and caring community.” — said concerned employees of the organization.

Wishbone’s story is tragic but also a reminder of the importance of having a plan for our pets should something happen to us unexpectedly. While we may not be able to predict the future, we can make sure that our beloved animals are taken care of by creating a pet trust or designating a caregiver in our will. With some planning, we can ensure that our furry family members are always taken care of, no matter what.

Would you take Wishbone for yourself?
