When 10-year-old Oscar was “reluctantly” returned to the Burton RSPCA animal shelter for biting, he probably didn’t think it would be his third time there. Unfortunately, Oscar has difficulty finding a new home due to his sometimes aggressive side. This doesn’t mean that he isn’t lovable -with a bit of patience and understanding, Oscar makes an excellent pet!
A feline once seen as unlovable was “reluctantly” taken back to an animal shelter for biting. The new guardians didn’t know how to deal with the unwanted behavior, so they brought Oscar back.
“This is the third time Oscar has been in our care since September. He was returned to us twice due to his (sometimes) rebellious nature, but we are hopeful he will find a permanent home soon. Our mission is to find him a 100% forever home where he can be loved and cared for properly”, said an RSPCA spokesman.
Now 10-year-old Oscar resides at the Burton shelter in Stretton and is waiting for his next owner. Fighter, he would jump up against the glass door to get anyone’s attention who happened to pass by. Although gentle most of the time, he can be aggressive, which makes him difficult to predict.
“Oscar was returned to the shelter after attacking another woman, even though he is usually a charming and friendly cat. Oscar is adventurous and loves to explore, but he is happy to spend time with his human companion. He is not a grumpy guy and only attacks when provoked.”
“He will need access to the garden as he loves to walk, and we hope this freedom will also help limit any frustration. We are looking for an owner who can provide Oscar with much love, patience, and understanding. Someone who has experience with cats and can give him the time he needs to settle in would be ideal,” the spokesman said.
Oscar’s best chance for finding his forever home is with someone willing to accept him for who he is and give him the time and patience he needs to adjust. With time, these aggressive moments will become less frequent.
