Maya is only a year old and has spent most of her short life living on the street behind a Chinese restaurant. People found her there and took her to a homicide shelter, where she was placed on death row. The cat was already preparing for the worst day of her life.
She was born with an extra chromosome, which caused people to see her as different and strange. But thanks to The Odd Cat Sanctuary, she has been given a new chance at life. Maya is one of the lucky ones.
Luckily, The Odd Cat Sanctuary found out about her and removed her from the dreaded list. They posted a photo of Maya on their Facebook page, hoping she would find a forever home. Within minutes she had dozens of adoption applications!
This sanctuary is devoted to finding homes for cats who don’t fit the “normal” mold-the cats with unusual appearances or behaviors. And they have had success in placing these felines in loving homes.
Maya has problems with her eyesight and a flattened nose that causes her to sneeze. But she is incredibly adorable and, like any other cat, is extremely curious.
She is currently living in a foster home, is very happy in her new home, and even has a favorite toy. Thanks to The Odd Cat Sanctuary, she finally has the chance to live a happy and everyday life.
While Maya does have some health problems due to her extra chromosome, she is otherwise a happy and healthy cat. She loves playing and even found a favorite toy at the sanctuary. We are so glad that she has been given this second chance!
