A cat named Cotton lived on the streets, hungry, sick, and close to death. His eyes were covered with scabies; ticks were eating him alive. And finding any food without using his eyes was almost impossible. But then his guardian angel arrived.
Carmen Weinberg, the founder of Animal Friends Project Inc., was heartbroken when she received him and immediately took him under her care.
“He couldn’t even see or open his eyes,” said Carmen, “He must have been terrified. He was skinny and bony.”
“Cats like Cotton depend on people because they can’t always ask for help. I am sure that many people passed him by because he looked sick. But he was waiting for someone to give him a chance.”
Cotton finally opened his eyes with great care. The transformation was incredible as Carmen’s care and nutrition healed his many health problems.
But the day he finally opened his eyes again was one to remember, honestly.
After washing him, Carmen helped Cotton regain his strength, fed him nourishing food, took care of him, and applied creams, coconut oil, and various antibiotics.
“We thought that he was blind and that there was no cure,” Carmen explained, “The vet thought that even when his eyes recovered, they might be damaged, but the reality was completely different. It was such an amazing surprise. His eyes are just beautiful.”
One cat’s eyes are bright blue, and the other is brown. Cotton’s transformation from a dirty bag of bones into a healthy and active cat was complete.
