Life can be challenging for an older cat, especially if he is outside in icy weather conditions. While no one knows where Buster came from or his past before showing up on a family’s porch in Ontario, New York, this friendly ginger cat is now loved and cared for.
When they left him food, the family noticed that he always put his paws under his body. One day they decided to catch the cat and help him.
They then took him to Lollipop Farm, a Humane Society in Greater Rochester. There, a veterinarian determined that he was about ten years old.
It was also found that he has plasmacytic pododermatitis. This rare and poorly understood disease causes foot pain and may be related to FIV. In addition, he had an ear infection and two bad teeth.
The family has decided to take Buster in and give him the care he needs. Buster had to wear mittens and a cone of shame because he kept taking his mittens off.
But other than that, he reacted well to the vet with good humor and lots of purring. The gloves came off in just a few short weeks, and Buster was on his way to recovery.
In the meantime, they enjoy having this friendly ginger cat around the house and giving him the love he deserves. It shows that even an older stray cat can find a loving home if he’s in the right place at the right time. We hope Buster enjoys a long and happy life with his new family.
Even though Buster is an older stray cat, he has found a loving home where he can live out his days comfortably.
