A Cat Who Was Forced to Live in a Bird Cage Got a Surprise from Life

Life often doesn’t start easy for anyone. It is undoubtedly true for Holly Peppermint, a beautiful ginger tabby who was forced to live in an open-air bird cage infested with fleas, without a clean place to lie down or the possibility of free walks. What’s worse? This cat had food and water, so someone deliberately kept it that way.

This poor cat’s fur was shedding badly due to flea scratches, skin, and bladder infections that required antibiotics, several vaccinations to keep her up to date, and of course, her spaying. Through it all, the cat, who was once nameless and unloved at the beginning of her life, purred loudly at the human touch and was sweet and gentle.

The fantastic rescue team at Furry Nation Salvation in Florida leaped into action when they received a tip about a cat living in deplorable conditions. They found the cat crammed inside a tiny birdcage when they arrived. They quickly worked together to free her and get her the needed help.

Thankfully, Holly Peppermint’s story has a happy ending. Now, this beautiful cat lives the life she deserves, surrounded by love and care. We hope that Holly Peppermint’s story will inspire others to open their hearts and homes to needy animals. Every animal deserves a chance at a happy ending.

This elderly couple became interested in this cat as she was recovering and decided they wanted to make her a permanent part of their home. They took her in when she was ready and named her Holly Peppermint. She spends her days cuddling, jumping, and playing with them and their ten-year-old kitty housemate. She’s even made friends with the resident birds! Holly Peppermint has indeed come full circle. Thanks to the kindness of strangers, this sweet cat finally has the life she deserves.
