This gaunt little kitten was picked up on the streets of Florida, USA. His legs were paralyzed, and he was dragging them behind him. Kind people noticed this and decided to help him. The St. Francis Society shelter determined that the baby was only 10teneeks old and very weak.
The kitten was given the name Indy and the staff began to take good care of him. The next day, the timid kitten even climbed up the bars of his cage – he was so scared and afraid to be left alone. Then he was spotted by Michelle, a volunteer with the local rescue organization – she decided she couldn’t go Indy alone.
She took him from the shelter to her foster home that same day. The guardian knew she had to help this special baby – she gave Indy the right medicine and surrounded him with care and love. Soon the kitten blossomed and stopped being afraid of everything around him, learning to trust the guardian.
Indy can no longer walk on his hind legs, but that does not stop him in any way – he is full of energy and curiosity. “He scurries around the house with incredible speed and can climb anywhere with his strong front paws,” Michelle says.
The guardian also introduced Indy to the other cats she has in her care, and they all got along well with the baby. One cat has even taken him under his care and is constantly spending time with him. And Indy enjoys playing with his older cousins and learning their essential cat things.
