If there is one thing that warms the heart, it’s when good triumphs over evil. When we hear about people going out of their way to help others, no matter how small or insignificant they may seem, it restores our faith in humanity. It is the story of two kittens who were abandoned by the side of the road and rescued just in time.
Only two days old, the tiny kittens were found by a volunteer from Sparkle Cat Rescue. They had to survive the most challenging days of their lives on the street without heat and food. When they arrived at the shelter, a staff member, Sarah Kelly, their new foster mom, got down to business, providing them with 24/seven care.
Sarah named them Solei and Luna, which meant sun and moon because the two tiny kittens had opposite markings on their little faces. Luna’s eye was closed due to an infection, but Soleil was always by her side.
The next few weeks were critical for the kittens as they battled dehydration and malnutrition. But with Sarah’s love and care, they slowly began to improve.
” Solei loves Luna so much; we always see her snuggling up to her, so she’s very attached!” Sarah said. “They are both such sweet girls.”
The more confident they became while walking, the more mischievous they grew. Kittens appeared to agree that everything should be completed as a team. Sarah gave them a new pal to walk in the form of a teddy bear to keep them straight and narrow. The two immediately climbed over him once they began doing everything together.
While their story may have started rough, it has ended on a high note. These two kittens are living proof that there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
