A kind man in Vancouver often fed stray cats that he saw near his work. One day, he noticed one cat – a black and white tuxedo – who always seemed to be sickly. The man knew he needed help, so he contacted Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association VOKRA.
Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association (VOKRA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing, fostering, and rehoming abandoned and orphaned kittens. VOKRA also works to educate the public about the importance of spaying and neutering their pets to reduce the number of homeless animals in our communities.
Upon examination, it was found that the cat named Tuffy had a severe sinus infection that had blocked his ears, nose, and eyes. The volunteers cleaned his eyes and ears, and Tuffy soon realized they were only trying to help him.
After a week in the shelter, Tuffy started to feel stronger. His face was washed with a warm compress every day, the ointment was put on his eyes, and he even allowed his new friends to pat him on the back!
Once Tuffy recovered, he was neutered and got dental care. He also tested FIV+ but was still too wild to live at home. However, VOKRA found the perfect solution: Katie’s Place Rescue Shelter, where he can live with other cats.
His life has completely changed, and Taffy no longer has to suffer! Now he spends his days lounging in the sun, playing with his feline friends, and being loved by the kind staff at Katie’s Place. We are so happy that Taffy has found him forever home!
