Penny, a 101-year-old woman, was very lonely after she lost her best friend – her cat. So much so that she decided to send her children to an orphanage in search of a new furry friend. As it turned out, the staff at the orphanage had just the cat for her – Gus, a 19-year-old ginger tom. Though Gus was quite elderly himself, he and Penny bonded quickly.
Penny’s children were initially hesitant to bring Gus home with them, given his age and health problems. But Penny was adamant – she wanted Gus to be her new best friend. And so, against the odds, a beautiful friendship blossomed between two unlikely companions. Penny and Gus spent many happy hours together, chatting, napping, and enjoying each other’s company.
Penny and Gus became best friends overnight, spending all their time together watching television and sleeping. It turned out that the old lady and the cat had very similar habits. The woman fell in love with him wholeheartedly. No one knows how long Penny and her pet will live, but they are both happy, and companionship fills their days – something they both desperately need.
It is essential to understand that you have an animal you care for. Then, no matter how hard it is for you, you feel alive.
Now Gus lives in a mansion and watches squirrels very often. Although he is old and not so fast anymore, he sometimes tries to catch up with them. It looks adorable.
