One paw, one family. That is the story of Tink the cat, who saved his loved ones from a raging fire. On July 3rd, an electrical fire broke out in a building near the Hopkins family home. The house quickly caught on fire; if it weren’t for quick-thinking Tink, the entire family would have perished.
Tink awoke to the sound of flames and knew he had to act fast. He ran into Jake’s room and started meowing as loud as he could. Jake woke up and saw the fire. He immediately got his family out of the house and called 911.
The Hopkins are now safe, but their home is a total loss. They are staying with relatives, but they are all safe, which is all that matters.
Its owner shares a memory:
” I awoke to the sound of a thump on my legs and recognized it was Tink. She wouldn’t sleep in our bed, which was unlike her. As soon as I opened my eyes, I saw white clouds. My two sons sleep with the door shut, and thick black smoke came out when I opened Scott’s bedroom door. The smoke went straight through the vent into his room, and he was fast asleep.
We fled quickly, but Din was frightened and hid behind the closet since the fire had spread. When the firefighters arrived, we informed them that our cat was inside.
The firefighter found her inside, but she was unresponsive and hanging limply when he brought her out. We were devastated and thought we had lost her. However, the firefighters had a special oxygen mask for animals. So Scott stayed in the firetruck, keeping her on it for an hour until she woke up again.”
We were ecstatic to hear that she had gotten through that. Tink is a one-of-a-kind cat who has brought joy and happiness into our lives. She’s our hero, and we’re very proud of her accomplishments.
Fortunately, she was saved; however, she would have given her life to protect her family. What a brave cat!
