When homeowner Pat heard the cries of a kitten for help, she knew she had to do something. The poor little guy had gotten lost under the decking and was crying for help. Pat took it upon herself to find the kitten and bring him to safety. When she saw him, he was skinny, malnourished, and had a terrible eye infection. Thankfully, Kaylee Seymour from Dorset Rescue Kittens came to his rescue!
Kaylee took the kitten in and started giving him the care he needed. “He’s a little fighter and is doing so well. He’s on the mend, and we are hopeful he will recover fully,” she said. We are so grateful to Pat for her quick thinking and kind heart! This kitten might not have made it if it weren’t for her.
Around the clock, bottle feeding began, and Kaylee started him on antibiotics and eye drops. After a few days of intensive care and constant TLC, Danny recovered, demonstrating that he was a champ at eating. Kaylee then took Danny to the local vet for a checkup and was given a clean bill of health.
“We always knew he was a fighter. After Danny survived the first night, we recognized that he wanted to live. He was such a likable person,” remarked Kaylee. Seymour decided to name the kitten after her late husband, Danny.
Danny loved to play so hard that he would throw himself around and bite people’s hands. Without siblings, it can be difficult for single kittens to learn how to play correctly. Kaylee decided that the best way to help Danny was by finding him a mother cat with her kittens. She adopted them from a gentleman who needed extra help caring for all his cats.
“We have arranged for the mother cat to raise her babies under our care, and we will return the spayed and vet-checked mother to him to prevent any future litters.” Danny happily pumped his bottle every three hours on the first day he joined them, but it only took him one night to figure out how to breastfeed his foster mother, according to Kaylee.
“He was originally perplexed by all the noise and energy in his new home, but now he feels like one of the family.”
We hope this kitten has a happy future and finds a good family!
