When Juan, nine years old, found out that a woman living in the house next door had kittens, he immediately went to meet them. Of all the kittens there, he noticed one whose hind legs didn’t work and thus couldn’t move around like the others. The kitten’s owners were at a loss for what to do. They had already taken him to the vet, but the vet said there was nothing they could do. On the other hand, Juan refused to give up on the kitten. He started spending all his free time with him and even did some research on his own to try and find a way to help him.
Juan felt compassion for the animal and left thinking of ways to help. That night, he had an idea that could assist the kitten without serious financial investments from its owners. Juan took apart one of his toy cars and made a platform on wheels to replace the baby’s nonfunctioning paws. He attached straps to hold the device onto the kitten, giving it mobility again.
Juan’s neighbors adored his idea. Now the kid can explore and play with other kids. Of course, the platform is only for the current size of animal–it will have to be replaced when it grows up–but the animal’s owners say they’ll buy a bigger one for their baby. Juan’s parents are so proud of their son for helping and being compassionate. They encourage him to keep up his excellent work!
This is such a heartwarming story! Juan is a compassionate young boy; amazingly, he came up with a creative solution to help the kitten.
