Three Kittens Saved From a Tractor Trailer at Tire Recycling Company

It was a miraculous discovery when three little kittens were found huddled up amongst tires at a tire recycling company. A worker unloading the trailer was shocked to see the litter of kittens and quickly jumped into action, placing them in a box layered with clothes and rushing them for help.

The kittens were lucky to have been found when they were, as the trailer sometimes sits for days or weeks without being unloaded. Thankfully, they were found alive and able to be taken in by a foster volunteer who worked in the area.

The three were in terrible condition and required immediate treatment. The orange and white kitten was unresponsive and trying to cling to life. “When we first saw them, we didn’t think we’d be able to save him.”- said the rescue worker from the shelter.

Despite the difficulties, Sarah and her colleagues wanted to do everything they could to assist. The kittens were only a few days old but were comparable in size to newborns.

“Weighing them was challenging since they were so tiny and delicate.”

The three cats, Mich (black and white), Elli (calico), and Goody (orange and white), were cared for in the safety of their nursery. Goody had his incubator where he could rest undisturbed and receive oxygen and nebulizer therapy to help him heal.

“It was such a surprise to see him hold his head up and drink on his own for the first time since we worked as hard as ever to bring him back from the brink, and it’s still so amazing,” Sarah added.

The other two, Mich and Elli, were in good health despite their ordeal and quickly began to thrive. “These kittens are warriors,” Sarah said. “They have fought so hard for their lives.”

After the kittens had reached a suitable age to move into their new kitty palace, their characteristics began to show.

They refined their stride after a bit of practice and polishing. They soon began zooming about their room, chasing one another until they were exhausted.

The playful antics of the kittens are a far cry from their difficult start in life, but they are a reminder of the strength and resilience of these little creatures. Thanks to the quick actions of the worker at the tire recycling company and the dedication of Sarah and her team, these three kittens have been given a second chance at life.
