Sophie, the cat, has always been a bit of a character. When she was three years old, she was rescued from a hoarding situation and placed in a cage among other animals. Thankfully, the Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL) came to her rescue, and her new home quickly adopted her. These days, Sophie loves sleeping in her little doll bed every night.
Sophie’s story is just one of many that highlight the importance of rescue organizations like the ARL. They help thousands of needy animals every year, giving them a second chance at a happy and healthy life.
“I tried to see if she would sleep on our bed, but she insisted on sleeping on the dresser,” Sophie’s mother, Christiana Viscusi, told. “So I put a little doll bed up there for her, and she’s been sleeping in it ever since.”
“She sleeps there all night nestled up,” Viscusi explained. “She only gets up at 3 a.m. for a snack, then returns to her bed till my alarm goes off in the morning.”
Sophie’s mother created an Instagram account for her so the rest of the world could also appreciate her cute sleeping habits. People frequently wonder if Sophie’s mother is forcing her to pose in bed for photos…
Sophie’s love for her little bed is just one of the many things that make her such a special cat. She’s come a long way from when she lived in a cage, and now she’s enjoying home comforts. We’re so glad she could find her forever home with the ARL.
