Stuck in Mexico for a Year: How One Cute Kitten Forced a Couple Postpone a Trip Home

Lee Hodges and Willow Rolf are a couple of teachers who hit the road in their rebuilt VW truck in August 2019 with dreams of reaching North America. But one adorable kitten changed everything. While driving through Florida, they found Jackie – a fluffy kitten who quickly became part of the family. Because of this lovely addition, they got stuck in Mexico for an extra year!

The kitten was taught to walk on a leash so that she could join her parents in their adventures. Jackie has even learned how to ride in the truck, sitting calmly in her seat as they travel.

Their lovely Jackie, they joke, travels better than most people; his life changed completely. Now he has his own Instagram page, which chronicles their time in Mexico.

Unfortunately, Jackie was attacked by a pack of dogs, and as a result of the tragedy, he received a broken leg. Despite this, the anxiety of her trio did not subside, and they continued, waiting for their kitten to get up.

It was tough for them because then was the most challenging time because of the pandemic. They wanted to return home but could not. Later, their car broke down, so they could not travel long distances either.

But they say it was all worth it because of Jackie.

However, the most important thing is that they are together. We hope that they will overcome all their difficulties! Follow their story to find out what happens next.
