23-year-old mother gave birth to children who are born only once in 480 years

Alexandra Kinova, a resident of the Czech town of Milovice, decided to give her husband a second child. When she found out she was pregnant, the happy twenty-three-year-old rushed to an ultrasound. The specialist immediately told the expectant mother about the high probability of multiple pregnancy, which was not a surprise to her – the girl and her husband had twins in their family, and the young family was even excited about the prospect of having twins.

The second examination at a later stage showed that the couple would have quadruplets. Before the couple could even recover from the shock, the doctor stunned them again – there were still five embryos, one baby was just hiding.

According to statistics, five children are born to one woman at the same time only once every 480 years.

In the Czech Republic, the official count of newborns has been conducted since 1949, and no quintuplets have ever been registered. This is a truly unique case, especially given that the children were conceived naturally, without IVF, in which the risk of multiple pregnancy is high due to the large number of embryos.

The mother and babies are doing great – the birth was under the careful supervision of forty members of the clinic’s medical staff. Daniel, Mike, Teresa, Martin and Alex are growing up fast and making their happy parents happy
